These are a recipe of my sister in law, who is a great chef. Fantastic and super easy to make!
1 T yeast
2 T sugar
1 1/2 C water (105 - 115 degrees)
1/2 tsp salt
3 1/2 - 4 1/4 C all-purpose flour
1/4 C butter
You need 1 T of yeast to come to room temp.
Combine yeast, sugar, and water; let set for 5 minutes. (If it's not bubbling after 5 minutes, toss ingredients and start over.)
Add salt with flour to yeast until soft dough and only very slightly sticky.
Knead 5-10 minutes with floured hands. Cover with a damp towel or Pam-sprayed plastic wrap and let rise in a warm (not hot) spot until about double, 30 minutes to an hour.
Melt butter in a 9 x 13 pan in a 350 degree oven. Roll dough into 9" sticks and place into pan, rolling each in butter. Let rise 10 minutes.
Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 or until lightly browned
