Okay, I answered my own question - I found a way to compare the different seats on the Britax website!

lol Kim, well yup basically the weight limits are different, he will definately outgrow the Roundabout sooner than he will the Marathon. The Roundabout is less bulkier its a tad bit smaller. I would definately go with the Marathon vs the Roundabout for the money.

I was really leaning towards the Roundabout until we got to BRU and tried them all out. I was suprised by how small the Roundabout looked, I had a hard time believing that he would comfortably fit in it when he was 13 lbs heavier.
Both DH and I really liked how easy to use the Marathon was and after trying out all the seats they had at BRU - we put Nicholas in just about every one and buckled him in, played with the features, etc - luckily he didn't mind and was enjoying making eyes at the little girl who was also trying out seats! :) We went back to the Marathon, tried it again, and agreed that was the one that we both liked best.
The other couple who was there with their 11 month old daughter, doing the same thing, also agreed with how much they liked the Marathon- we were comparing notes on what prices we had seen at various online retailers. ;)
Now to just find a sale on the Marathon before he outgrows his infant seat...

Yeah, he has the SafeSeat - I don't carry him in it anymore though, I haven't for at least 2 months now! It stays in the car and he comes in and out - I wouldn't have an arm left if I were still carrying him in it! ;)
I was surprised to realize that he was so close to outgrowing it in length, long before the weight limit, though - he's 30 inches now and the limit is 32 inches. He only weighs 22 lbs and the seat goes up to 30 lbs.

I like the Aqua but DH won't go for it, says it's too bright.
But awesome Marissa on the other link - they have the greystone one I like for $209.99, I'm calling DH now! Will they tell me the date of manufacture if I call?
Marissa
12-22-2008, 04:14 PM
It depends, sometimes they will give you the DOM but not always, for instance when I ordered my aqua one back in September it had a manufacturing date of August 2008. I don't think they will be very old, but it just depends........usually they are within a few months or current.

I tried to call but they are pacific time so they won't be open until 11a my time...as long as it's within a few months I don't care but as much as I'm paying for this seat, I want as much use out of it as I can get!!
Marissa
12-22-2008, 04:20 PM
Exactly Kim!! Exactly!! I would hate for it to be almost a year old you know.......shoot we need to get as much use of its life as possible!

Well damn! All the ones that are on there for $209 are sold out - they really need to update their website, it's so misleading! Back to the drawing board...
