At Brody's one year check up, the doctor told DH that we can turn Brody's seat around. I told him that just because we can doesn't mean we should. I also mentioned that legally, Hayden doesn't have to ride in a booster anymore and we still have him in one. He thinks that we need to take Hayden's seat out and turn Brody around. Ummm......NO! Brody doesn't mind riding RF and Hayden likes his booster seat. Men!

What? What an idiot! Maybe we should find you those extended rear-facing articles for you to print and give to him, so he can educate himself!!!!

What are the Texas laws on carseats - they must be way different then here? Because in MO, kids have to be in a seat/booster until they are either 8 yrs old or 80lbs, so compared to that it seems early for Hayden to come out of his...

CA is 6 or 60 lbs for boosters
I already told my Dh that if he said one thing about how long the girls were rear facing or in there carseats I would take him to the ER/trauma bay to ask them how many kids come in from car accidents severally injured because there parents though it was ok. And see if there were any. He hates needles enough to not try.

Dr's know NOTHING about carseat safety!! I barely trust them with medical diagnosis much less with carseats......... I hate it when people tell me that their Dr. told them it was okay to turn them around...........um .........okay..
Rita I am glad you told him how it is!!

Yeah, they have to be 5 to get out of a booster. Hayden is a big kid for five, but he still doesn't fit well in the car without his booster. I just don't think he realizes how important car seats are.
The State recommends that kids stay in boosters until they are 4'9", but that isn't the law. After reading that, I can see where his distrust might come from. Shoot, if we waited for people to be 4'9", DH's mom would barely be out of one!

lol Rita and Misty..........I plan to do a booster after he outgrows his convertibles as well........like DH says it looks like Gael will be in a carseat till he is 18 lol......... but hey its for their safety you know........not our convenience nor theirs ......pure safety! and less of a chance of a serious injury or loosing their life.

Marissa. My carseat is a convertible/high back/ regular booster. So it's nice not to buy anymore carseats.. my girls will be in the harness straps until they cant fit though lol. I believe it says up to 5-6 lol poor kiddos. They they will be in the high back until I feel comfortable. though I have a feeling they will want those disney princess high back ones.. ugh...

Stephanie is 6 and still sits in her booster. I can't imagine her without one lol. Nathan has a forward facing seat but we don't have a car so he never uses it. He hates rear facing so he's forward now. Flame me all you want lol.

Oh men are dorks when it comes to this type of stuff. Ronny's still in his booster seat, he's not reacheck 4'11 yet and he's only going on 7, so yeah..I think he'll reach the height requirement before he does the age one:)
