So my DCP takes care of a little boy who just turned 9 months......his mom is a teacher where DCP's daugther attends school........anyways so DCP told me that the teacher had already gotten her son out of the infant seat because he was so squished in with the harness straps and go him a big boy seat........needless to say they never rethreaded the infant seat harness to the next level......he had been on level one since he was born...........SO I AM VERY CURIOUS about Carseats and all.........I looked at the teachers car this morning to peek in to see what Big Boy seat he had ..........and it is a Cosco Scenera (good seat) however IT WAS FORWARD FACING............dude Really??? the Kid is 9 months.......... some people just don't read or don't care .......... maybe she will see Gael's carseat Rear Facing in DCP's car next week and ask me why...........

My SIL's BFF is a physicians assistant, and even SHE turned her little boy forward facing before a year, because he was already 20lbs! AND she emailed us all pictures of it too- I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I told my SIL, "shame on her, she should know better!!!"

Maybe you can hint to your DCP to mention to her that she was told by you, and you are crazy about carseats ;), that Gael had to be RF until at least a year old so she knows!

I doubt she will turn her seat just because Gael's seat is rear facing.

It just upsets me you know! I am going to give DCP a little hint to tell the teacher that I am a crazy carseat freak and Why I keep Baby G rear facing.

Jennifer- the PA should know better than that, shame on her for real!!

As educated as some people are, the lack a sense of something else geez!!

This calls for a double :spank: :spank:

Carrie I doubt it to, but the teacher seems to be very intersted in all I do with G so we'll have to see....... I told DCP, "wow they should have just told me on rethreading the harness straps" apparently the teacher did not know how to..........

True...why not just ask someone? Poor baby was probably extremely uncomfortable.

Hopefully your little hint will pay off.

Hopefully Carrie, and well I can only imagine him being uncomftorable, may I add that he was always harnessed incorrectly and chest clip all the way down geez same thing with the little Girl DCP takes care of, she is even younger she is only like 7 months........ and then there arrives baby G all harnessed in like he lifting off lol

It sounds like they are purely ignorant but come on - if you don't know how to do something then ask, do some research, something - come on, it's your child's safety at stake!

My point exactly Kim.........its not like we are talking about who uses Dr. Browns bottles and who uses Drop Ins......... we are talking about saving a child's life.........to me its just laziness and ignorance, oh well........ its their kids but I do feel bad for them........I think I will tell Gael to let his little friends know in baby talk how the cow eats the cabbage.

I had a lot of people ask why I still wanted Kyler rear-facing. My SIL is a nurse and she told me I could move him forward. I was just like, yeah, I know.

I tell you it seems like noone in the Dr's office knows anything about carseats, which is ok but they should at least tell parents not to turn them around ya know.......unitl at least 1 year and 20 pounds and that extended rear facing is a lot safter.........
