I think it can help significantly in case of an accident due to their position while using a seatbelt. I will try my best to keep Gael in a 5 point harness as long as possible before even moving him to a high back booster or backless booster.

A lot of flax is going on around my area because of that new law. My in-laws think it is BS.

I just don't see why a booster seat is such a bad thing......and why people make such big deal about having one.........its for the kids safety you know. Some people just like to do what is convenient for them and not the kids. Its sad :-( My parents come from a generation where carseats were unheard of and well we grew up with limited carseat availability or anything consiered safe so they don't understand the big carseat world, but I have educated them on it a lot......yeah they still think I am a bit odd but they understand my point of views.

My dd who is 7 and has cranial head problems is still in a booster it keeps her head safe and she sits at the right height for the seatbelt strap to go acrost her chest. If I take her out of it and have tested to see if the seat belt alone is enough it's NOT! It goes right acrost her neck, and my brother being a state trooper said until the seatbelt sits just right it's the safest thing to have them in a booster even age wise. He said he's been to too many accidents where kids were severly hurt because of not using one.

I agree with you Deborah, see your brother has witnessed one to many accidents and he gets it........but other people just don't. I just want to avoid my child being the victim of my mistakes if its something I can avoid.
