wanted to add... if you think you were preggers you can go in and get a blood test done and they would be able to tell you if you "were" pregnant within a couple days i believe.

My body didn't know that my baby died so I didn't go through the typical miscarriage. I'm pretty sure that you'd probably have more than just light bleeding.

Definitely more then just light bleeding - I was almost hemorrhaging for 48 hrs straight, horrible cramps, etc - you'd know...:(

Usually you bleed ALOT! And it's kind of thick. And usually the cramps are really bad...almost contraction like.

online info
Miscarriage prior to 6 weeks of pregnancy - The signs with a very early miscarriage are often bleeding that looks like a heavy period.
Miscarriage between 6-12 weeks of pregnancy - Signs of a miscarriage later in the first trimester include moderate pain/cramping as well as bleeding.
Miscarriage over 12 weeks of pregnancy - If you are having a miscarriage after the first trimester, you will likely have bleeding and pain that almost feels like the intensity of labor.

I called my doctor once because my AF was a little late (like 2 days) and then I started cramping and bleeding heavier than normal and passing clots which was something I had never done and my AF was like clockwork and always light. I hadn't tested yet because my DH and I weren't trying and we both knew I wasn't on any birth control but we were being very careful and I was charting my cycles and at this point, I knew if I was pg, it was too late so I didn't really want to think about it but at the same time, I kind of needed to know. My doctor told me to take a test and if it was positive I was most likely having a miscarriage and if it was negative it was either my numbers were already to low to detect on a home test (which meant nothing was going to save the pregnancy anyway) or I wasn't pregnant and just having an off period. My test was negative and I bled for like 5 or 6 days (4 was my norm). I had normal cycles for about 3 or 4 months after and then got pg with my ds2. Some people think I had a miscarriage, some think it was just an abnormal AF. I'm going with an odd period because my test was negative.

I was 8 weeks along when I miscarried. I had lots of bleeding and period like cramping. I just knew in my heart I was having a miscarriage. The miscarriage started on Sunday night and I went to doctor on Tuesday. I was sent to hospital via ambulance and was given the final results of my miscarriage. I went home that day and was doing laundry that night.

H ladies new here... I mc'd last month and AF was right on time..if I hadn't tested early I wouldn't have suspected a thing. Started cramping, spotting and losing clots...backache like no other too...I get lots of back labor. That was that. TTC this month and hoping we are PG again!
