i saw it at walmart and really like the idea of leaving him in a 5 point carseat longer then 40-50lbs. I want him to be as safe as possible in a car.

Yes I love the Britax but...we got THIS ONE (http://www.target.com/Graco-Nautilus-3-Car-Seat/dp/B0011URFRE/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=0&searchView=grid5&node=1038576&keywords=carseat&field_browse=1038576&searchSize=30&id=Graco%20Nautilus%203-%20Car%20Seat&field_availability=-2&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Ctarget_com_age%2Cta rget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_character-bin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&refinementHistory=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_ age%2Ctarget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_character-bin%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&field_price=10000-19999&searchNodeID=1038576&field_launch-date=-1y&searchRank=relevancerank&field_subjectbin=1038590&searchPage=1&field_keywords=carseat&pf_rd_r=07J00XPMSYBGF0S5WFSA&pf_rd_m=A1VC38T7YXB528&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=489944911&pf_rd_s=center-3) instead. I too love the idea of the kids being safer longer and up to 65 lbs is a while!

Blake is almost 5 and still only weights 39 lbs and his carseat is still accomodating. Ill take him out of his carseat when he wont fit in it anymore (that means the booster too)
Im paranoid...

Graco MyRide 65 is a good seat, I have never installed one but I saw it at BRU and I like it. Gael currently uses a Britax Marathon full-time in both my car and DH's and in my parents car he has an Evenflo Triumph Advance.
After the Marathons I will NOT put Gael in a booster with a seatbelt, I plan to purchase a seat that 5 point harnesses longer than 65 pounds such as the Britax Regent or Frontier or even the Graco Nautilus, or whatever comparable thing is out there by the time we reach that time.

i want to keep ethan rear facing longer then one year and decided this after buying a new seat. i looked yesterday and says to not keep rear facing over 20 lbs but thought it said diff in the book which i will look again. why is that? im sure i could keep it rear facing alittle longer. plus hes not 20lbs yet i dont think but very close like 1lb to go.

I thought the Graco MyRide rear-faced to 40 pounds and Forward Faced to 65 pounds......are you sure you read it correct.

I wish that seat had come out before I got the Britax! I hate that I spent 2x as much on the Marathon! But, thats the story of my life. I bought a DouGlide stroller and traded that in for a Sit N Stand about 6 months later because my ds1 got too big for the douglider and then they came out with the new sit n stand that has a full rear seat that removes! I could have had 1 stroller instead of 2!

The only thing I didn't like about that one is that after 65 lbs the carseat is basically useless. Unless you have another child to pass it down to. The one we ended up getting goes up to 65 w/ the harness and up to 100 w/o the harness

I almost got that for ds but ended up with another EFTA.
I'm going to get a Nautilus whenever the baby is ready for a convertible and move the baby into the EFTA and put Kyler in a Nautilus. Unless something more compelling than the Nautilus comes out before then. Marissa will have to keep me updated :)

Yeah, but the ones that also convert to boosters don't have a high rf limit (or are ff only?). At least none that I know of. So then you have to choose between extended rf or being able to convert to a booster. Of course I could be wrong.
I'm hoping things work out like I'm envisioning with switching the kids around between the infant carrier, EFTA and Nautilus.

How old will Kyler be when you put the baby in the EFTA?

Whenever they outgrow the infant carrier. If I do get the Snugride 32, it'll be a little longer. Hoping to make it through next winter with the carrier seat so Kyler would be just turning 3.
