I've been looking into getting a Snugride 32 for the baby since it would have been very handy with Kyler. However I came across sites with posters saying it didn't fit in restaurant high chairs and shopping carts (and others saying it did). Then I found one where everyone was telling the poster she shouldn't be putting the carrier in the seat part anyway. I know the cart and seat manual say not to but I guess I just figured they were one of those things that everyone did even though you're not "supposed" to.

Unless it was a weird shopping cart (like Target!) where I couldn't get the seat to latch in I always put it there. It never seemed unsteady or like the cart was about to tip over. Is there anyone who always puts the carrier in the basket part instead? I guess it wouldn't be too big of a deal because Kyler could be in the main seat anyway.

So 2 part question if you didn't make it through my rambling... Any experience with the 32 fitting in shopping carts/high chairs. (and is the base really THAT much longer than the original. Not worried about the weight b/c our Evenflo weighs more than the Snugride 32 anyway)

Who puts their carrier in the seat part?

with kinsley i always put it in the seat part with the boys i had to use the basket and i have to say the basket seemed more secure, but with all my carseats when i put on either it did lock on.
i'm not sure about the carseat your referring to. i havent heard of it

Oh and I havent noticed that the base was longer at all... it does seema little bit bigger than some other carseats but since it doesnt leave my car, Im not worried about it.

Our backseat is really small. I'm guessing that if the EFTA fits RF we should be okay with the 32 though. As long as I don't have to move the seat up any farther, it's already a bit uncomfortable for trips longer than 10 minutes.

Yeah, we don't go out to eat very often anyway. I'm thinking the benefits would outweigh the negatives. I already knows nothing but the Combi Shuttle will fit on our stroller, so we're SOL there! :)

The SnugRide 32 is a big infant seat just like the Graco Safeseat, which is the one I had. It was big and it always fit in teh baskets of the shopping cart, I am not a fan of putting them on top in the seating area, and I always see parents leave kid unattended on the shopping cart while they look at something..... later we stopped putting Gael in the basket part with the seat because he started to grab on to the sides and the thought of the germs on those baskets drove me crazy sooooooooo we always took our stroller and put the seat on it lol OH but the seat does FIT in the slings at restaurants. I loved our infant seat, however when Gael was born the Snugride 32 was not out yet......... but its typically the same size of the Graco Safeseat.

Yea the only difference between the safeseat and the snugride is the weight capabilities. I think.

I have the normal snugride and i put it on the seat part but always hung on to it. i did sometimes leave the seat folded up in the cart and put the carseat sideways in the basket and that way you still could put stuff in the basket.

I had the safeseat with Nicholas, which is now called the snugride 32 (but is exact same seat still I believe) and I always put it in the back of the cart, I was never comfortable with him in the seat part for fear of tipping- the one time we did try though, it didn't click on and was a weird angle so we never tried again.
