last month was my first month using clomid 50mg. i thought i had ovulation pain on day 17, but i had blood work done on day 22 a d my progesterone level was only 1.0. anyway, we went to the casino for my bday and i had 2 beers. then my stomach started cramping soooo bad. it felt like my inside were all balled up and beeing sqeezed!! i took some peto bismal and it slowly went away. so i thought it might have just been a reaction to the alcohol. well last night me and my hubby went to the movies and the pain was back. i didnt drink any alcohol. it wasnt quite as bad and didnt last as long, but petpo took tghe pain a away again. does this sound like the clomid caused a cyst? the longest the pain lasted was for about 1 1/2 hours. should i be worried?

clomid can hyperstimulate your ovaries and thus cause cysts. Did they precheck you for a cyst before giving it to you?
To be on the safe side i would call your doctor.
Good Luck TTC and glad to see you on the boards

Stomach pain or in your ovaries? I had some pretty bad pains while on Clomid down in my ovary areas. You might be getting over stimulated. If you are try drinking gatorade. That helped me a lot you might get a little dehydrated.

Pepto won't help ovary pain at all. Try some tylenol :) The ovary pain is also probably a sign that you are about to ovulate so get BDing  Any ovulation (whether induced by clomid or not) can cause a cyst if you have PCOS but that will develop after ovulation. I had appalling pain each time I had clomid but used it as a sign that O was near ;) Good luck and baby dust :)

Yeah they should make sure you don't have pre-existing cysts before they start clomid.

well i did have an ultra sound before i started treatment. they were mostly looking for mature eggs though. they probably would have seen a cyst then. but i have never had pain like that before, so i dont think had one prior to clomid.

Ovulation pain can be horrible :( Doubled me up. Have you tried any painkillers at all? Tylenol (paracetamol) should be safe to take when you're TTC. I had paracetamol/codeine for my pain because I was on 150mg for my youngest 2 (and the miscarriage in between) and the pain was too bad without painkillers to BD, thereby making it a waste of time
