my husband is going to the neurologist tomm to get his sperm tested. what should we expect to happen? he is very nervous and feels uncomfortable doing it, but he desparately wants a baby juist as bad as me so he is willing to do whatever necessary to make that happen. he does smoke ciggs and is on methadome. (he has never done meth or anything like that, just took methadome as pain killers, but trying to get off it) anyway, what are his chances of having something wrong with sperm count or mobility? should we be worried?
the reason we havent succeeded so far is because i have low estrogen and progesterone levels. currently finishing 1st round of clomid, but didnt ovulate so my dose is going up next cycle.

neurologist? Those are doctors treating nervous system problems. Do you mean a fertility specialist?
I am not sure, but I figure the methadone would have an effect on sperm count!

I think it could have an effect on sperm count too.
Good luck for him tomorrow

A wide range of chemical substances can affect sperm quality and/or quantity, including medications. The medications listed below all have been associated with male infertility:
* Anabolic steroids
* Antihypertensives
* Allopurinol
* Erythromycin
* Chemotherapy
* Cimetidine
* Colchicine
* Cyclosporine
* Dilantin
* Gentamycin
* Nitrofurantoin
* Tetracycline
Other drugs associated with infertility include: alcohol, tobacco, excessive caffeine, marijuana, heroin, and methadone.

Recreational drugs like marijuana, heroin, and methadone are associated with lower serum testosterone levels without a concomitant elevation in LH levels. This suggests a central abnormality as well as a testicular defect.

Hi my husband is going in for his 4th test next thursday! This is the first time anyone told us that he can't penetrate me before he ejaculates in cup. We always used to do that,we're from Malt a(a small island) so the clinic is really close to our house.
I'm sorry about the pills side effects,i have no idea what they do..hpw did it go btw?
