I came across this section here... and thought maybe you all might be interested!!! Instead of bombarding you all with one LONG LONG LONG post I am going to break it up!

Does it seem more kids have allergies today than ever before? They do, according to experts. Allergies—to both food and environmental triggers are on the rise—affecting the health of approximately 2 million U.S. children. Scientists don’t fully understand the increase, but research is getting closer to bringing new medications to market to alleviate the symptoms of allergy sufferers. Meanwhile, preventing, treating and managing allergies remains, for the most part, in the hands of parents and children themselves.

My MIL says that the parents nowadays just want to put medical labels on their kids instead of just dealing with things and moving on. I just tell her whatever, science is better now and kids don't have to just survive anymore.

I think you are right Leslie... there are so many advances now it's unreal.
