Does anyone else have a kid that just won't sleep in their bed all night? Usually somewhere between 2am and 4am, Jamie is up and wanting to get in bed with us. Or on some nights, she goes to bed at 9pm and then right after we get in bed at 10pm, she comes in our room and begs for someone to sleep with her....

How do we keep her in her room all night?

We dont have that problem here thank goodness. Hopefully someone else will have some useful info for you.

When you figure it out, let me know!

Nicholas is 2 and the exact same way - he used to do great when we first put him into his full size bed but the last couple of months, he's back to waking up a couple hours after we put him down or a lot of nights lately, refusing to go to bed until we do and then I'll usually lay down with him and fall asleep myself and be in there half the night!

we used to have that problem.. Then I bought new beds and viola no more problems :) lol I'm serious! I guess our bed was just more comfy

I think that's part of it Misty but DH insists that we aren't buying a $3,500 bed for our 2 yr old...so guess he'll be sleeping with us then, huh? But his isn't too terribly uncomfortable either, though I can say that it isn't as comfy as ours - I do have a feather bed that I'm debating about putting on top of his bed to see if that helps, so we'll see.

lol, well, Jamie's bed is more comfy than ours, IMO...and she told us recently she wanted a nice big pillow like ours...she has that now. It's not working, she just brings the pillow with her to our bed. Shy of investing in a bigger bed....usually what happens is I leave and go spend half the night on the sofa just so we don't have a 4am issue.

Kyara seems to have some sort of internal alarm, the second I start to drift off to sleep she's climbing in my bed. Since its just me and her I normally just let her stay, she's a good snuggler when its cold lol

Nope never had problems here either .. they all stay in their bed all night, unless they are sick or something

It's around 5am here. I let zach lay with us for a few minutes then take him back to his bed. he just likes to snuggle me. its only a few nights a week thank goodness. I think its more so now that he knows the baby is coming.

Have you seen that clock that lights up like a moon when it is night time and like a sun when it is day time? You get to set when the sun and the moon come on, so you can tell your LO "you can come to bed with us only when the sun comes on." Maybe it will work for you!

Seems like it's a common problem without a good solution. Maybe we should try the clock, although I imagine Jamie would ingore the thing and come in our bed anyway. The other night we told her she couldn't get in the bed with us and she drug her little sofa into our room and slept on the floor next to our bed!

Could you take her back to her bed once she falls asleep in yours? or will she wake up?

You wait until they're almost 8yrs old and no longer want to sleep with you! Seriously. Cameron will still come occasionally but its back to being very, very rare. Sam is in my bed in the morning 99% of the time although the last 2 nights he stayed in his. Not counting on making it to 3. Megan has been waking up again and I figured its because she's getting cold so I moved her back to blanket sleepers. I've also been making sure the boys are dressed warmer than they think they need and I cover them up before bed and if I wake up at all, I go in and recover them. Warmth is key in my house! And getting older.

I have no suggestions bc my oldest co-slept with me until almost 3.5 and Natalie was in and out of my room until about 2.

Going through it now but i love it in a way but would also like him in his own bed. He comes in @ 3:30 most nights. I guess i should just enjoy it this way since lilly wont be cosleeping with us much cause we dont have room for 2 babies in the bed. If ethan would stay in his bed then i would conceider cosleeping with her.

Our problem (after much trial and error on figuring out what it was!) was that she could get out when she woke herself up and would just come to us instead of staying in bed and falling back to sleep. We struggled with this for about a year so I feel your pain! We finally got it worked out. I know this looks horrid and her room is a mess (please forgive!) but it this side rail really worked for us. Its not really made for this bed, but she cant hurt herself with it either. Addison is learning to put herself back to sleep when she cant just roll out of bed half asleep anymore, she has to really want out. Hope this helps someone else.

I wish that would work for us but Nicholas has a full size bed so he'd just find somewhere else to climb out! Glad its working for you Katey!
