How important is it to get a car seat on the fit guide for my car? Don't most car seats fit all cars?

One of the ones we were looking at didnt fit in my car properly. I jsut went to babies r us and asked them to bring a seat out so I could see if it fit. They looked at me like I was nuts but they did it.

When Kyara was in a car seat I was driving a volvo and it was so hard to find one that fit secure. But the volvo made ones were $300 and up, I couldn't afford them. Finally I found one at babies r us, I had to use a foam piece they sell also that wedged in near the seat but that car seat didn't budge once

with Debbie and Kayties base we cut a piece of noodle and it proped it under the base to level it out. worked great

In teh seat for MIL's car the instructions said to put a rolled up towel under it...wierd since its Graco... LOL

We used a rolled towel with our graco, its right in the instruction manual.

I think most carseats will fit in most cars so you should be ok Leslie. I've never even heard of a car giving you a fit guide to carseats - I personally wouldn't go by that because who knows what the safety ratings are on those seats they are recommending. Pick the one you want then go to a store that will let you take their floor model out to try it in your car and go from there - I think you'll be surprised that unless you have a super tiny car, most seats will fit.

I agree with Kim. I dont know what my car recommends, I just go by the seat itself. We were able to fit 3 seats in the back of my car and it is not a big car at all. We are looking for something bigger but for now it works atleast.
