Bothered by the oil spill? Switch to cloth diapers. It takes about 2/3 cup of oil to make one disposable diaper.

Over 300 lbs of wood, 50 lbs of petroleum feedstocks and 20 lbs of chlorine are used to produce disposable diapers for ONE baby EACH YEAR.

Yikes!! Again .. if I had my own washer and dryer, I would be ALL for it .. but I'm not going to have poopy and pissy diapers sitting in my apartment fermenting till we can do wash on Sunday .. once a week.

Your wash on Sunday would take forever since you have to wash cloth diapers many times.

That's what I'm saying. I really wish I could help the environment out .. I just don't have the means for it right now.

Yikes, I didn't know that. But I'm not home enough to use cloth...otherwise I'd try it out.

That's crazy! I never did clothe, I was back to work at 8 weeks and the babysitter wanted no part in it. If I were to do it all again and had the chance to stay home I'd be all for clothe!

By the way one of my very best friends did clothe diapers with no washer at home. She simply did only the diapers every other day and other laundry whenever. But she said its a pain in the ass.

It is a pain in the ass if you dont have a washer but there are some people who do it.

My grandmother who is 82 is totally for clothe. She used to tell everyone, "If my mama could scrub clothe diapers in a bin, there's no reason anyone else couldn't either"

It little extreme to be scrubbing over a washer board and pal lol. But I guess she has a point.

If I didnt have access to a washer in my home, I wouldnt be beneath washing them in a bin....but then rewashing them in a washer....

Some people can spread it out every 3-4 days....I prefer to wash every other day. I am glad I switched to cloth.... If we have any more kids, they will all be cloth diapered :D

Its not our generation thats gonna suffer from the enviroment, its our childrens or grandchildrens....so Im all for keeping my share of diapers out of the landfillls :D

Seriously, if I were home more, I'd consider it. It would probably save a ton of money over the long run in diapers. But being I work 4 days a week & that would require someone else do to the cloth diapering, I better not start it this late in the game. Andy is almost two, I hope he will consider using the potty at some point. He knows what it's for, just won't use it, lol!

Ryan thinks the potty is a toy to take apart and put back together. He doesn't even seem bothered by a wet or dirty diaper.
