How many different times do you have to was cloth diapers? I have been reading different websites online and I am seeing at least 3 times or more. Is that true?

Yeah, that is generally true. A rinse, wash and a couple more rinses. That's what I remember offhand.

My routine:

rinse with cold
wash with hot
4 rinses with cold

I have to use Tide when I wash diapers because of our crummy water. If I don't, they get stinky. Most people have good luck with any free and clear detergent, but I don't.

My routine, cold rinse, hot wash w/ detergent, cold rinse

Alot depends on teh detergent. Tide causes buildup faster therefore needs more rinses. I use BabayGanics and have had no issues. Ive used tons of cloth diaper friendly products and this is my fave.

Oh and I wash every other day :)

Yep. It takes me a little more to rinse it out. But, I'd rather do that then the diapers get horribly stinky.

I was reading somewhere that Hard Rock detergent works really well for hard water. I should probably order some and try it out.

I've heard about Calgon too, but I don't have any idea where to get it. It's supposed to be in the detergent section I think.

I think I'm just doomed to be the person with weird laundry. I've noticed lately that I can't hand diapers to dry or they will stink. Maybe that will change now that it is getting hotter outside. I dunno.
