looping a cd all night so your baby sleeps better?

Zach sleeps with a relaxation cd, recently ive been looping the cd at nap times so he'll sleep over an hour... the cd is 35-40 minutes and when it turns off hes awake within 10 minutes of that... so at nap times i let it loop so he can get a good nap in... DF said i should loop it all night so that he'll sleep better at night.... he does sleep longer than the cd at night but only by about an hour or so, then hes crying and i go in, comfort him (usually he just needs his bink) and hes back to sleep and if hes restless (tossing and turning) i turn the cd back on... im really not sure what to do, i dont want him to be dependent on a cd to sleep, but if hes sleeping better then so am i, and we all need our rest here!

i just dont know what to do, hopefully you'll all have some advice!

We do - we set Nicholas' CD on repeat, so it plays all night long! It worked before, although nothing is working the last 2 weeks. I don't think it will hurt them to be dependent on a CD - my bff's kids are 2 and 5 and they still fall asleep to music. As long as they sleep - who cares?!?

I would say that a CD isn't all that bad to be dependent on...better than other things!

The girls each have one of these in their rooms, and they both sleep to the waterfall.

I say if it helps him sleep, go for it! I don't see how thats any different than a sound machine and I believe "the experts" even recommend playing a white noise in a baby's room to help him/her sleep.

Do you have a fan that you can put in there and see if that helps? He may just need the noise to relax (you know like in the womb). But if a Fan doesnt work I sure as heck would be looping that CD all night!
