mod of weight loss/fitness and "hey you!"
Cameron was 8lbs, 12oz at birth. 14lbs, 4oz at 2 months. 27+lbs at one year. Formula fed (BF and formula until 5wks). Up until about 6mo, he was a chunk. Never really fat though. At 5 months, I'd say he got fat but then he grew and balanced out a bit. He's always been big and solid but never fat. He's tall though so it balances out.
Sam was 8lbs, 4oz at birth. BF only until 4mo when he was borderline failure to thrive. He went from 80th percentile down to between 1 and 3 % by 4mo. He nursed what seemed like 24/7 and just wasn't gaining. I could have ZERO dairy in my diet or he was vomiting. My milk went from being nice and thick to almost watery looking when I pumped. I joke that when I had to give up dairy, my milk went from whole to skim! However, formula didn't help much either. I struggled every day with that kid. His doc wanted 24oz minimum in him and I was lucky to get 18-20oz. It took him until 6mo to hit 16lbs (most babies double by 4 months and triple at one year) and he was 20lbs even at his 1yr appt. At 4.5, he's still very thin.
Then there is Megan. My 8lb, 2oz "preemie". (She was 37wks, 1 day and NICU nurses say thats preemie! Makes me laugh!) She dropped to 7lbs 3oz by 3 days and I think thats because they pumped her stomach out 3 times. Meg was 99% BF. She got a little formula in the NICU and then by 1mo, I went to all BF (she never had more than 4oz of formula a day) and by 3ish months, her feeding before bed was formula. She was average (if clothing was 0-3 mo, she wore it to 3 mo, if it was 3-6 mo, she wore it until 6 mo) until she hit 6ish months. Was just over 20lbs at her 6 mo appt. Was 25-26lbs at her 1year but way off the charts in height. Now, at 2, she hasn't had her 2yr appt yet but she is about 37-37.5in tall (still way off the charts) and probably 37/38lbs. She and Sam are neck and neck in weight but he's about 4-5in taller. She's wearing mostly 5T now and I've even started shopping in the bigger girl dept because the XS (4/5) fits her!
All I know is my BM went from damn near starving Sam to making Megan gigantic! LOL!

All of my kids were bf and got formula a bit after 2 months. Brooklyn started off the biggest but it took her to a year to double her birth weight. She went from chunk to thin. I loved Prestons chubby buns and thunder thighs![]()

Logan didn't triple his birth weight by 1 year, and the ped. knew he wouldn't by about 6 months. He told me that most kids do, but he really didn't think Logan would, and he was right! He wasn't concerned either though, so I didn't worry either.
The WHO actually came out with new growth charts specifically for exclusively breast fed babies.

They should have seperate growth charts for bfd and formula babies. I think bfd babies are most of the time skinnier than formula babies.

all 3 of mine were formula fed babies..
*little* ron was 8 pounds 14 ounces at birth and was never really skinny or chunky, just kinda in the middle.
Wyatt was 10 pounds 6 ounces at birth and was always my chunky baby.
Owen was 7 pounds 13 ounces at birth and is my skinny baby.. tall and thin!
